Sorry Jeff, I’m not familiar with that VNC app so I don’t know for sure. I’ve only used the finger pointer in the iOS simulator that comes with the Apple iOS SDK.

I tried to use the phone finger with a VNC app “chicken of the vnc” I was controlling my iPhone for a screencast but both mouse pointers were visible. Is there any way to override the vnc mouse pointer?

The lack of multi-admins is KILLING ME! I really, truly think this is something that shouldn’t have been a problem for Google to implement since the very beginning. Plus, their direct competitor (whether they like it or not), Facebook, has that feature. They must compete accordingly (and I believe they have, to such an extent that Facebook is already copying many of G+’s features, but they just missed it by not putting this one.)

Ugh… I used a software a few months back as well. I got me some followers all right. But just like you, I totally became disengaged on Twitter. I’d been checking it many times/day until then. I prune it about every three months. If I find that I’m visually skipping over what someone writes (because the signal to noise is high or my interests have shifted) then I unfollow. I also only post about 1/3 of what I think of posting to avoid polluting other people’s feeds with ill-conceived ideas. Obviously I’m less stringent when it comes to blog comments. :)

I have this same problem so I started using lists to group people by topic and unfollowed people I didn’t want in my main feed. Periodically I will just view a list if I’m just interested in say.. seeing what’s going on in Cville. The beauty of lists is that you can add people without actually ‘following’ them.

This is surprising. Maybe I don’t run with the traffic – but I follow organizations on Twitter and FB because I love providing feedback. I like finding out about their latest. Free stuff? Sure, that’s great, too – but they can only give away so much stuff. I also like putting a personality with the company. A company that’s responsive and interactive on social media does more for me than a company that isn’t. Of course, I think the worst is when organizations don’t interact at all via social media. To adapt a phrase from Mr. Miyagi, either social media do yes, or social media do no: Social media do “guess so,” get squished like grape.

MobileMe used to provide data transfer statistics so you could fairly accurately estimate the total number of people who were listening from your site AND downloading directly to their computer. Beginning July, 2010, MobileMe stopped providing data transfer information. Do you have any suggestions about how I can get that information so I can estimate how many people are listening?

You can usually measure these metrics through customer research, including surveys or post sales questionnaires. At the end of the day, it will require some level of manual interaction with the customer to determine what drove the sale. Depending on the sales volume you may need to speak with every customer or just a statistically significant sample.

In iWeb, click on the Podcast Page, Open Inspector to the Blog & Podcast Settings and change to 10 (or more). That should do the trick.

Steiner, my Podcast page is not showing all of my Episodes. I have 10 total and the Podcast page only shows 5. The other five are listed in Archives, but I would like them on my Podcast page. Any ideas?

Glad it’s working! You can install Google Analytics using an HTML block in iWeb. You can probably find a tutorial for this on YouTube.

SK, I was able to successfully publish my podcast on iTunes! Thanks for your help and your great article…my problem was that..I was not signed into my iTunes account! So apparently you must be already signed onto iTunes -before- the feed is posted into iTunes.

Now that I have published my podcast via iWeb, is there any way to get statistics on my podcasts through any of my Apple products (iTunes, iWeb) on how many hits I am getting and where they are coming from? I see that you are using FeedBurner and WordPress for this. Does Apple do the same thing, or would I have to open an account with Feedburner for this. Getting my stats is very important for me as we hope to attract advertisers/supporters to our podcast. Thanks for all your help! Stan S.

Sorry, looks like 5 minutes is the limit on audioboo.fm and you’ll have to stick with the iPad mic for now (which is actually outstanding). For longer and more professional podcasting there are other solutions, but this is it for simple short podcasting on the go.

Are you using the latest version of iTunes? Did you completely publish your site through iWeb, so it’s actually on the web for iTunes to crawl?

Yes, sorry — you do have the option to export from Garageband to iTunes as MP3. This wasn’t always the case with earlier versions of Garageband.

Not directly in Garageband, but you can export to iTunes and create and convert to MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV or Apple Lossless. Here’s a link to learn more from Apple … http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550.
