How I use Google Analytics on a Daily Basis

Google AnalyticsGoogle Analytics is a fantastic tool that I use pretty much everyday to track visitor activity and behavior.

Specifically, I’m looking at # of visitors, bounce rate, popular content and traffic source. My goal is to discover:

  1. What content is driving traffic and how are visitors finding this content
  2. What keywords are driving the “best” traffic
  3. What channels are delivering traffic – search, social media, comments and other 3rd party sites
Understanding these metrics provides me with insight to create more useful information for my audience.  If they seem really interested in social media tools and processes, then I’ll produce more content around those topics.

How are you using Google Analytics or other web analysis tools to understand your market?
